While a fun adventure story, this book feels like such a departure from the series. I understand that it maintains some of the main characters that we've already met, like Reepicheep and Caspian, but it definitely feels more like a stand alone story instead of propelling the series forward.

The same happened to me when I read Prince Caspian; I had already watched the movie and I preferred it over the book. I think this one's better than it's predecessor, but it still lacks hook. I don't know why I feel this way, but I believe it's because the book is targeted SO MUCH to children that the danger the characters face doesn't seem big enough... It's like they won't get hurt no matter the situation.

My mind wandered and I kept getting distracted while I was listening to this. I wasn't as enthralled as the other two, and it seemed to jump all over the place. I still enjoyed it though.

This book is the third time Lucy and Edmund came back to Narnia, the third time Caspian is in a story and the first time Eustace starts to believe. This book is less violent than the other ones. To me it is my 6th favorite. I like fights more, even though fights are sad. In the book they were older since the last time they went to Narnia. They have a cousin, Eustace. He too was transported to Narnia. At first he didn't believe it. Who would if you were in the same position. In the end though he is a changed boy.
