The Dahl of this century

My first Walliiams read and not my last. As mother to a reluctant reader I'm always on the hunt for books to interest him and ratburger doesn't disappoint. Lovely book with the underdog winning at the end of the day.

I hope my reluctant reader enjoys this as much as I did.

A great middle-grade read. Only took about 2 hours to get through and it was extremely entertaining to say the least!

The David Walliams books are getting old for me. I still think that they are great children's book and would recommend them to younger ones but they just get repetitive. It's a shame really that he just keep on applying the same recipe over and over again with subtle changes.
It is imaginative in a child's way but it lacks variety and perhaps a certain magical aspect. I may read more of his if the plot sounds different enough (Awful Auntie was a nice change of scenery for example) but otherwise I've had my share.
