Someone needs to slap me because all I want to do is read "The Cat Who . . ." books!! It is so not like me to even read two books in a series in a row, but I find myself very comfortable following Qwill and Koko and YumYum around in these silly stories Up North (away from all the troubles of Down Below). The good news is I have to read a 450 page book for my book group, so I will have to rip myself away for a breather from these cozy, campy mysteries!

Loved it. Always disappointing when an author writes out a character one has come to enjoy (no spoiler!) but this mystery had some really great twists. Add a kitten to the mix- no it’s not related to KoKo and YumYum! Fun read!

My grandmother gave me this book when I was about 8 years old - I loved it then and I loved it now! Lilian Jackson Braun created such a charming pair of detectives in Qwilleran and Koko. The series are quick, easy reads - and always have an interesting premise.

The mystery is ok, but Qwill is such a jerk in this book! Much of the book is his arrogant disdain for his partner's affection for her new kitten. and he's supposed to be a cat lover! also, he takes a dislike to his neighbors just because they're not "classy" enough. So much of his behavior here feels adjacent to various -isms. Skip this one and try a different one in the series!
