This one kept me engaged from early on - which is exactly what I look for in a book. It's graphic and difficult at points, so that's something to get through.

Wow! Not a read for the faint hearted this one!
My 1st Slaughter book and I very much enjoyed it ~ as much as you can with the content.
The percentage of writing which needs ‘trigger warnings’ is huge!
If you can overcome these, then the story is great. If someone you loved disappeared, would it be better to know what happened to them (no matter how disturbing) or would you rather live in ignorance? This is the crux of the tale. Because once you start tugging at the thread the whole thing slowly unravels!

I’ve never seen marital infidelity be so innocuous. I guess that’s just relative to stalking, rape, torture, murder, and human trafficking. This book is pretty dark. The darkness brought out a very specific and personal darkness in the protagonists, which made them compelling and believable. This is a great read but it is the antithesis of enjoyable or relaxing. I’m glad I read it but I’m also relieved to be done reading it.

Be aware, TW//graphic sexual violence, torture, murder

This book hits the ground RUNNING and it doesn’t stop until the last page. It is intense.

the violent gruesomeness is not made up for in plot. I found myself dying to finish this just to get to the end. My favorite part was when she went after the slut-shaming girl w the tennis racket.

I think I am personally done with thrillers about women being assaulted.
