Drew me in and kept me wanting to read until I finished it. It was incredibly graphic at points, which made some parts difficult to read. Highly, highly recommend checking out content warnings before reading (I did not, and probably should have, though not sure even that would have prepared me for how disturbing some of it is). Still, excellently written, with some twists I saw coming and some that I did not. Makes me interested to read other (maybe less graphic) books by this author.

This book hits the ground RUNNING and it doesn’t stop until the last page. It is intense.

Loved this so much! And hated it too, but for all the right reasons. There were twists and turns in just about every chapter and I never knew what I was going to be surprised with next! I was taken surprise by each revelation, which never happens for me and I never knew who to trust. Only complaint is it was almost too graphic to stomach. If it hadn't been so well written and I didn't care about the characters, I might have stopped. Lots of very graphic torture, violence & death. Be warned. I have a headache and I've had dreams about this book. But it was so good. I'm very confused how I should be feeling haha. My first and probably not my last Karin Slaughter book, but I'll definitely be needing a palette cleaner in between.

I can’t decide how to rate this book. It includes some of the most disgusting and depraved ways a person can possibly think. It’s so dark. I didn’t realize how awful it was going to be until it was too late. The only reason I was able to keep reading was because the two women at the center were worthy of rooting for. Ultimately, it’s a four instead of a five for me because there were parts that were too unbelievable and too sadistic, and I don’t ever want to be mistaken as condoning violence against women for any reason.

I really enjoyed this book. Devastating look into a family torn apart by a missing sister. While I was able to predict some of the twists, the details and other parts kept me very interested and caught me off guard. My final listening session (today), I started at 60% and listened to the rest. Really picked up in the end, despite the beginning not really even dragging. The actions of the main characters felt believable and detailed. Overall a good read.

This was incredibly violent and graphic, so I'd recommend reading warnings before starting.

I read this book because it was listed in some “most disturbing books” videos.
I hate saying i enjoyed this because it’s not a nice topic to enjoy, but i just love dark and disgusting thriller and horror books. This book had me in a chokehold the past four days, and i barely find time to read so that’s always a good thing about a book for me, fast-paced and packed with adventure so i don’t want to stop reading.

Some of the turns in the story were weird and from the beginning you already know that the guy is bad, but you don’t know about the extent of the cruelty. That was weird for me because i’m used to not knowing who the killer is, in this book it was rather the question who you can trust and what’s the truth.

The ending made me cry, but i have to be honest and i feel really  weird saying this:
I heard this book was SO disgusting and graphic, and of course, there were some scenes that made me a bit uncomfortable but i’ve read worse. I don’t think that it’s the description that makes it disgusting, but rather the topic.

I still enjoyed this book! It wasn’t as cruel as i thought it would be and at the same time it was worse. But in a good way.
