I enjoyed the police procedural and mystery aspects of this novel. But there was too much philosophizing for my personal tastes. I also think I missed some of the nuances of the Swedish culture and experience because of my lack of familiarity with the country.

This didn’t live up to my high expectations for a Scandinavian crime novel, but was still enjoyable in the moment. I’m guessing I won’t remember this for long. I had a pretty strong feeling about the actual identity of the killer about half way in without any actual evidence.
