Se c'è una donna che è davvero riuscita a mettere in parole il modo in cui io vedo e vivo la magia, questa è Erin Morgenstern.

I love these little stories. I think Gosling Investigators is my favorite. And it could just be because it's in my head but it was fun seeing similarities to the Starless Sea, just little phrases that made me say, hey! I really hope this gets made into a physical book someday because I'm greedy like that.

If you're wondering if you'll enjoy reading this collection, I'd say it's going to appeal to a very specific audience. That audience:
- Enjoys [b:The Mysteries of Harris Burdick|55734|The Mysteries of Harris Burdick|Chris Van Allsburg|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1386924623l/55734._SX50_.jpg|489077], and other sorts of mysterious, fantastical flash fiction
- Loves the descriptive, romantic language Morgenstern uses in all her works
- Doesn't mind brief glimpses of unexplained magic
I read this is short spurts over the past two weeks or so, and it's been a nice respite from everything else, in the same way it is sometimes nice to take a break to drink some tea and watch the sunrise. There is no overarching narrative, and some of the stories are better than others. Reading this, it's easy to see the inspiration for Morgenstern's later works. If you've never read any Morgenstern before, I'd still suggest starting with one of her novels. But if you love her writing and her worlds, you'll find something to love here too.
My personal favorite stories are:
In Tandem
A Room Of Your Own
Be Happy For No Reason
The Light At The Edge Of The World
Three Small Deaths On The Back Gate
Happily
The Wish Granters

Reading this collection of short stories was really enjoyable. They all were very short, yet had an almost magical quality to them. I read these stories a little at a time. It was never something that I sat down specifically to read, but something I did while waiting for the bus or for my classes to start.
