Just like The Ex Hex, this book was fun, emotional, ✨spicy✨ and just an all-round great witchy romance. I think, the only thing that I wasn’t a huge fan of was how fast everything happened in the storyline: there wasn’t much of a romantic build up for an enemies to lovers arc and the unfolding of other events came and went pretty fast too. I felt like at some points I had accidentally missed a chapter when in reality, the plot had just processed so quickly.
Other than that, it was so enjoyable and I loved Gwyn in the first novel as a secondary character so it was great to experience life and love with her in this novel as the main protagonist. Wells also has my heart, but Rhys will always be my no.1 ❤️

I absolutely adored The Ex Hex, so of course I has to get the little spin off to it.

It was fun, a little bit spooky and spicy - A perfect cozy witchy book for October which I love! I love how Gwyen is an actual good strong woman who is stubborn but doesn't let that get her into stupid situations like most strong woman characters do, which greatly annoys me.

Wells is such a fun male to read and I love how he became his own person and stood up to his Father, instead of using the useless excuse of "while his actions were bad, his means are good". I love children standing up against their parents, we need more of that.

The only thing I did like was the whole 'Baby Witches' gang, to me they were annoying - maybe it's because I find younger people annoying most of the time?

It's not as good as The Ex Hex, but it's still a fun read to cuddle up with.

Tldr; Gwyn and Wells are hella cute, and I really hope the next book isn’t Bowen and Gwyn’s mom…

Out September 20, 2022 [Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review!]

Rating: 4/5 stars

The sequel to The Ex Hex (which centered on the relationship between Vivi and Rhys) finds Vivi’s cousin Gwyn running her witch shop, Something Wicked, mentoring young witches, and butting heads with Wells Penhallow, Rhys’ older brother and newest Graves Glen resident.

I thought The Ex Hex was super cute and loved the witchiness, so I was excited for the sequel, and The Kiss Curse didn’t let me down. In fact, I think I liked this one even more, as I was instantly drawn to Wells (and already loved Gwyn from her appearances in book one). The banter and enemies-to-lovers vibes were immaculate, and, as always, Sir Purrcival the cat fully stole the show.

I did want a bit more resolution (and also more magic!), as things seemed to wrap up too quickly and easily, which was also my opinion after The Ex Hex. That said, these books are fun, fast, adorable, and perfect light-hearted spooky season reads, and if that’s the vibe you’re seeking, look no further!

Recommended to anyone, but especially if you like: enemies-to-lovers; witchy romance; light-hearted spooky vibes.

CW: Kidnapping; mentions of blood/torture.
