My seventh book for Banned Books Week. Apparently this one was banned/challenged because one of the relatives had a tattoo. :P This was quite a cute, lovely book, and I wish I had such a big family.

This is a cute story that evokes time and place and brought back a lot of my own memories, though different. The illustrations are fantastic and capture the fun and emotion of the visit.

Not my favorite, but my daughter enjoys pointing out the little details in the pictures, such as who is wearing socks and hats, and which toy truck is broken. She also keeps trying to say Virginia thanks to this book, though I can guarantee she has no idea what Virginia even is.

This is one of my kids' favorites. It's so homey and comfortable, and right from "grapes purple enough to pick" it's just fun to read aloud.

Honestly one of my top-ten picture books favorites of all time. It’s become a tradition for us to read it when return from our “relatives trips.”

Gives children a wonderful mirror or window for how families celebrate extended families (if they have them).
