I am so glad I decided to read the shorter stories too!
Not much to say other than that. We get a better look at the characters, their growth and the whole history of the unfolding events.

I really liked this short novella and feel that it really shows Hadrian evolving as a character. This seems like a bridge between the man from the first two books who was just looking for a way to find peace with the cielcin, and everyone for that matter, and the man who eventually will destroy a sun. I don’t think this is required sun eater reading, but it’s definitely a good look at how Hadrian’s thought process is changing.
