My Summary: A year ago, Grady's wife, Abby, disappeared. He has been unable to live his life and work on his writing ever since, so when he gets invited to spend time writing on a remote Scottish island, he jumps at the chance. But once he gets to the island, he finds that not everything as it seems.

My Thoughts: Beautiful Ugly is not my favorite of Alice Feeney's books, but I did still enjoy it. The story was very slow-going, and I didn't become fully invested in it until the very end. The plot twist felt like it came out of nowhere and didn't make a ton of sense with the story. There were no breadcrumbs leading up to it--just one giant twist. I did, however, enjoy the audiobook for this. The sound effects with the walkie talkies and the dual narration really made the story better for me.

This was delightfully mysterious and just creepy enough. I definitely didn’t expect the twists and it kept me guessing. Very fun read!
