Definitely suspenseful but felt like the story line was partly borrowed from another book and all the build up to an end I mostly predicted.

I was torn between giving this book a 3 or a 4, but ultimately, I’m going with 4 stars.
While I didn’t enjoy the ending — especially the last 15% — the story’s strong sense of mystery and the eerie creepiness of the villagers kept me hooked. It truly made me want to know more about what was happening, and that feeling carried me through the book. Despite the disappointing ending, the atmosphere and tension were compelling enough to deserve 4 stars.
