2.5 stars - I had a hard time making it through this one. I really like the friendship between Harriett and Hely and I loved her collection of aunts.

i will forever be awed by donna tartt’s ability to weave a story with 100+ different threads.
a character says a “throwaway” line on page 89? well…you better be prepared for it to come back as a key plot element on page 346…everything. EVERYTHING is written like it’s in 3D.
this was so long…and i’m not even that in love with the story….but the reading experience was so worth it
