This one frustrated me a little

This book, the characters in it really did my head in. They actually infuriated me with their decisions. But I think that was where the author was headed with this. But for me personally, it pushed me away from emotionally connecting with the characters.

Really fantastic series about the very human need to do more than survive. Great, if dark, comic series. (5/5)

this one reaaaally wasn’t my favourite. if you enjoy people doing the nasty, characters being evil for no reason and Rick being an annoying little bitch, this volume’s for you.

Awful. So awful. This series went downhill after the first one and it just keeps getting worse. It's racist, sexist, dramatic, and these characters do so much stupid/cringeworthy things. Not going to continue a series in which I don't care at all about the characters or plot/drama. I'll stick to the show and game adaptations.

The main thing established in this volume is that Kirkman really can't write female characters.

Just shut the fuck up, all of you! Oh my goodness! This was so frustrating.

I mean, some characters more than others, but especially Rick, Tyreese, Carol... I was pretty annoyed with them all the way through.
I don't know, but I just don't like Rick. Many think of him as a badass. Maybe. Many think of him as a leader. Maybe he acts like one. But I just don't think he is. I'm so conflicted. I see, most of his decisions are necessary. But not all of them. I just... I don't know. The more I think about it, the more confused I am.
Tyreese is just an asshole.
Carol is so fucking weird.
Just, no. I... No. I can't.

Don't get me wrong, I like it when a book makes me feel something. This comic made me feel frustration. And that's okay. But please don't let me be frustrated by ALL of the following installments.

We are still in prison...

Finally Michonne has arrived on the scene...

And what a bitch she is!

The fight between Rick and Tyreese is quite something! Well done, how their emotions careen so far out of any reasonable frame of reference and they loose it so completely. What makes a murderer, is there such a thing as a justified murder? Is there even any such thing?

I like the black and white, but I am still mourning the artwork of the first volume. I am often underwhelmed by a lot of frames and the sketches in general. Every now and then there is something pretty nice that makes me wonder if the messy sketching is done on purpose.

BA69-E7-F2-553-D-4781-9-B23-A44096-BE7333

A bit too much talking and text to plow through at times. Which I guess is what this is all about, zombies or not. Relationships, how they all interact with each other, what drives them, how they deal with the mess that is their life. The zombies are almost irrelevant background noise.

Very strong ending with a great speech and shocking, revelatory parting line. Five stars for this, despite my grievances regarding the artwork.

Ehh... jaaaa... :/

Once again another wonderful volume in The Walking Dead graphic novel series.
I feel like this one started off pretty faced paced and then slowed down a little bit until the last new pages when it got super heated between Rick and Tyreese.
Of course it was filled with drama and death and all that good stuff. Kirkman never lets us down with the amount of death in this series that's for sure.
Rick's speech at the end was AMAZING. Absolutely perfect way to end the volume, and as per usual, I cant wait to pick up the next one!

(Some spoilers) This particular volume frustrated me a little. I've really been enjoying Rick's "descent into madness", but found it a little forced - happening for the sake of it happening, rather than letting the character fall there at his own pace. I can understand if people disagree with this, it's just a personal feeling.

Michonne, however, really annoyed me. I've been looking forward to her appearance since day one, as friends of mine who read the series wax lyrical on how wonderful/bad-ass she is. Her entrance was promising, but then as soon as she was inside the prison walls her character became boring and needlessly antagonistic in equal terms. If she is so glad to be there, why risk screwing things up by sleeping with Tyreese?

That being said, among all the unexpected deaths and promiscuity, there were still mostly good points that I enjoyed reading. The series is continuing on a fairly high note, and I am definitely looking forward to the next chapter.
