At first, I was kind of scared to read The Love Contract, one of the reasons being because I didn’t like Minx and while I love a lot of Sophie’s work, I usually love her dark romance novels. But I was pleasantly surprised with how funny and how cute this book was.
I loved Sully and Theo’s story; they’re so cute together and Sully is great book boyfriend material. I can’t wait for Reese and Merrick’s stories in the rest of the trilogy.

Was Expecting More
* Contains mild spoilers*
Sophie usually surprises me, in the best way. Even with Minx, which took some time to get through, there were scenes that really stick out. I don't know if I can say the same about Love Contract. The story felt forced but also way too abrupt at the same time. I know why they loved each other so I wouldn't fault Sophie for that. But the last few chapters were so rushed I feel like that switch in both their heads really wasn't explored. The paras about the importance of love felt stale, out of place, boring and forced. Like the author wasn't sure what to say so was writing everything.
Until now I've blindly trusted every Sophie Lark book to take me to a satisfactory end or make me feel something when I read it. Idk if I'll say the same after this. Like it's not a bad read, it's just a bland read, like I was waiting for... More.

Sophie Lark KILLED IT! How has the mother of mafia/ dark romance managed to slay the rom com game. This book had me kicking and squealing it was so cute while simultaneously panting from the spice. This by far might be my favorite Sophie Lark book to date.

Another Awesome Author
4.5 easily!! I’ve enjoyed all of Sophie Lark’s books and this one was no different! There’s always the fun and easy flow of her words that drags you in, making the pages turn almost compulsively because you want to stay in that happy warmth for as long as possible. I picked up the book because of the love story that I knew would unfold, my eagerness to see the plot unfold had me turning the pages, but with this one I stayed for the found family. The way they all changed and came together was beautiful and one of my favourite things to read! As always, it was a pleasure to!
