The Secret Circle series by L.J. Smith was always my favorite series of hers so when I decided to read it again I was worried that it would be awful and ruin my fond memories. While I did find it to be less good than I remembered I still quite enjoyed the characters and story even if the writing style was not exactly to my liking.

The way the final 'battle' plays out in this definitely feels a bit done before, but considering when it was originally written, well. Still really fun, still totally want to rearrange the canon pairings at the end. *g* I do love the surviving relatives in this one, and the pacing is pretty great still. Also, wow did I ever miss (as a 12 year old) how Deborah is so strongly queer-coded, hee. Might have to consider this for Yuletide...
