My least favorite of hers so far but still kept the pages turning. A bit too dark/gory at times for me, this mystery seemed the most far fetched but still an interesting read for a week

I haven’t gotten this into a book in awhile, it had my attention from the first chapter. But it got almost uncomfortably dark by the end. Love all the Kansas references though!

didn't pack the same punch as sharp objects but had its moments all the same

This is my least favorite Flynn novel. I think my main problem is the topics in the book (child molestation, devil worship, drugs) just wasn’t my thing. I also don’t think this book had the wow factor that Sharp objects and Gone Girl do

An atmospheric and tense thriller, much in the same vein as "Gone Girl".

i definitely enjoyed that like gillian flynn just gets it. very “what’s going on,” so many moving parts, everything’s going wrong and you know it’s only getting worse but you can’t look away and you have to know where it goes and- bro? anoTHER TWIST? yeah she just gets it and i love her writing style. definitely liked sharp objects more but this one was still amazing.

Dark and twisted with messed up characters, but always kept me wanting to learn more. Loved the writing style, well paced. I had so many theories throughout the book as more info was revealed. Mildly unsatisfying ending, I wanted to be more shocked.
