Getting back into the manga, felt like this was almost the whole mugen train arc in one book

Aside from a bit of obnoxious humour at the beginning, it is full steam ahead once the antagonist appears. I do love a good dreamscape storyline.

have to put a review in for this volume bc it shows a marked improvement in gotouge's art. the paneling could still be more varied, but it's indeed better. even compared to volume 6, the character drawing esp for rengoku is a cut above here. it all seems to flow rly well and goutouge's improvement not only in characters but scenery, action, dynamics, and tone are observable as well. in terms of story, it's adventurous, funny, and is surprisingly emotionally resonant. also, reading it i could understand why they made this arc into a movie.
