Such adventures indeed. It was such a rollercoaster, with so many little conversations and events, about everything and nothing all the time. This fantastical, weird story really reads like an child’s experience, which makes it all over the place, nonsensical and very creative. A classic. It has a ‘hitchhikers guide to the galaxy’ vibe, but with Alice's adventures I noticed I felt very lost, very often, which remained unresolved.

Where do I begin. Reading this book has been quite a rollercoaster of emotions, and not in a good way. When I saw this edition (Penguin Clothbound Classic) for the first time I knew I had to add it to my collection. Since this story has been the inspiration for so many, including an entire film franchise, I thought it would be a pretty enjoyable read. Boy was I wrong.
At the very start I was intrigued by all the fantastical elements and the worldbuilding. However, the further the story progressed, the more I came to realize that there was no clear structure, no character development and no clear plot. Furthermore, I found it extremely difficult to relate to the protagonist and found her unlikeable.
Taking all of this into consideration, this book would have gotten a solid 2 stars. That was until I did some research on the writer which caused me to lower my rating and unhaul this book despite still loving the cover.
If this book has taught me anything, it’s that nonsensical literature is just not for me.

I have been in love with this book since I was a child and probably have read this around six or seven times since then, and even obsessed with the movies that came out based on this, although they didn't include the exact way of how this book was written there was a lot of liberty in the way they were directed.
But I can't entirely put the blame on the movie producers since this book, I think has more than one version since depending on the publishing house, and the version of the book you may have different stories that have been included or excluded, and I feel like a fever dream to read this book. You either hated or you love it. There is no middle ground for Alice's Adeventures in Wonderland.

I was once read this book in French but as many people around me pointed it out, lots of puns and wordplays were lost in translation, so reading it again in English felt like reading a new story.
It mostly feels like a fever dream, and it quite literally is a dream. There's absolutely no logic behind the events unfolding in this story, but strangely enough, they made sense in the same way my own weird dreams make sense when I'm dreaming of them.
The author also purposely omitted anything that could give a moral to the story as he famously went against the trend of his time when all children's books must have a moral, meaning there's absolutely no symbolism and no meaning going on behind the words. It's a children's book, after all, and kids sometimes want to have fun without having adults nagging them about the consequences of this and that.

I love the puns and the nonsensical nature of this book. Despite its age and target audience, it never fails to delight.

Honestly I don’t get the hype for this book. Compared to Peter Pan, which I listened to yesterday, I found this classic average. I did listen to it on audio book. This book just jumps from nonsense to nonsense which I suppose is it’s charm? To me i just found it boring.
