The writing is terrible. The plot is weak. The premise is ridiculous. BDSM isn't that much of a turn on for me.
I don't know why I finished this book.. it's an easy read and there is something goofy and light-hearted under all of that. The main character is kind of lovable and cute.
I don't think I can recommend this book because it's mostly terrible. But it also does pretend to be anything more than porn in written form. There is no pretension in it at all. It is exactly what it means to be.
I can't say I will read the rest of the series but who knows.

5 star read right from the start. I loved every single character and their development throughout the entire series. I’m so excited to read book 4 when it comes out.
A book named sex wizards was right up my alley and it did not disappoint in anyway. I love how sex and consent positive this series is while still being very spicy and fulfilling true bdsm dynamics.
I highly recommend this series to anyone who like’s paranormal spicy romance books. Would also recommend this series to anyone who plays dnd and bdsm.
I read on KU and have brought physical copies to display.

Initiation was the first book I chose as an Indie Ink judge and I don’t think many people were surprised when they saw that. I love my spicy books and seeing link used as a basis for a magic system was too tempting to pass up.
While the character development did suffer a bit, I was excited about the focus on the plot and how it juxtaposed the values that the MC was learning about how to use his new magic. I love spicy books but was worried that the story would be drowned out by the sex scenes, which wasn’t the case here. Some of them were used to show the various relationships between characters, some were used to move the story forward, and most helped with the world building and showcasing the magic system. So that was really neat to see.
I can’t say I really got a strong sense of place, which was what I was judging it for. Yes, it did have a magic school and special rooms with various functions but that just wasn’t really what stood out to me. It was a good background for the book but it didn’t stand out in the same way the magic system or the focus on trust did.
I also liked that you knew which kinks you were going to read about in every chapter because it allowed you to read the whole book without needing to worry about seeing things that you’d rather skip or need to approach with caution since this book had A HUGE VARIETY of kinks. It did not hold back in this department at all.
I’m a romance reader but have no issue pointing out that many stories are drowned out by the focus on smut (I also don’t mind saying that I don’t always mind that hehehe), but that was not a problem at all here. It’s a cool intersection between romance and adventure fantasy that really surprised me. So overall, I’m glad I finally gave this a try and am sure I will continue the series eventually.

glad i took the leap
It took me a bit to try this one, because I wasn't really sure what to expect, and I almost never read anything that has m/f content anymore let alone something that isn't truly romance (though it does end happily!). However, I was seriously pleasantly surprised! The writing was great, the characters fun and unique, and the world building was interesting. Oh yeah and the spice level is off. The. Charts!!!
My one and only complaint is that the magic in this world is so different than any I've ever read that I was left confused a lot at the beginning. I appreciated the chapter headings describing everything, but it still was a little... Out there. But the story was so exciting that I pushed through and really enjoyed, even if I'm left still a little mystified. On to book 2!

For a series called Sex Wizards, this was fantastically plotted. Amazing world building, need I to say unique magic system, and an overall happy vibe all around.

Whoa, I was not expecting this to be a 5-star read, but it really was! It was like hot fanfic but elevated. The idea of a sex-positive society using that energy to power magic is really interesting. Plus it was hot as hell, super queer, nobody got weirdly jealous/no relationship hangups, and a HUGE focus on consent. Really excited to read the rest of the series!

Sploosh and lol . What else can you want from a story
I can only describe this as cozy kink erotica, with a rather interesting and surprisingly well thought out kink-based magic system. The barest of plots. The bad guys are wizards who ignore consent. I hesitated to put this on my Goodreads, but who am I kidding?
