I hate to say that I’m surprised I liked this so much. So entertaining and VERY sexy. If you like feel good fantasy but you’re also intrigued by a BDSM magic system, you need to give this a try.

I started this on a whim because I liked the cover and the series name intrigued me. In the end it was surprisingly good! I didn’t expect that it would be bad but plenty of books favor smut over substance. This is not one of them.
Faust does a great job of defining a magic system and building out the world. While the spicy scenes are plentiful, they also serve a purpose, and generally move the plot forward. I like that an array of things are explored, and while some are more intense than others, it’s never meant to be exploitative or overly vulgar.

I read this fully expecting it to be trashy fun, but it's genuinely well crafted and compelling. The characters, the setting, the plot, the magic system... All so well done
