I would've liked a bit more plot but otherwise thoroughly enjoyed it. Actually a healthy portrayal of kink where consent and safe words are important!

I got this during Stuff Your Kindle Day because it was called Sex Wizards duh. It is such a fun playful read. I had never heard of it before. It’s a book of almost 100% pwp that knows exactly what it is & doesn’t take itself too seriously. There are consistent content warnings at the start of each chapter that are written naturally into the book. I was stressed when I started it and found it a soothing & playful read. I was worried when some of the more intense trigger warnings came up but the author is clearly very thoughtful and her intent to write something fun but interesting is clear. I just kept smiling as the BDSM magic kept being ridiculous while still kinda sexy, & a not bad original magic system/world building aspect! Oh and it’s very queer and poly throughout.

My gratitude is ever increasing for Booktok

I actually took notes to make this review while reading, which is a first for me. I'm extremely grateful that this was recommended on Booktok. I love how much consent features in this. Each chapter gives a description of possible triggers in it, which is amazing. The caster is regularly making sure they have consent and aren't doing anything the focus is unwilling to do. I do feel that this shows healthy kink practices. There is some triggering events but they are both repudiated and actively fought against. Any triggering acts are not shown specifically in the text, but they are alluded to and in one case prevented. This is probably one of the hottest book I've ever read, and it's extremely well-written. I hope it continues for a long time.
