Wanted to read for a bit, somehow read it in one sitting. Do with that what you want.

giving this any type of rating feels wrong because i really don’t know how i feel about this book. i went in with high expectations thanks to the reviews and the unique plot, but i don’t think the execution was to my taste.
in theory, this book had everything im looking for. rh/poly, magic, school/univeristy-esque setting, kinks, etc. but idk!!! it just didn’t hit the way i wanted it to. i think the lack of romantic relationships (and minimal development) made it difficult to feel like any of this was for fun and not clinical. i didn’t feel any investment in the kidnapping plot bc we barely know these characters beyond the 1 kink they’ve mastered. i was happy to see the reunion, but it’s not like the stakes were super high bc at best the relationship was a friends with benefits, and at worst it was a fuck acquaintance (idk???? lol).
i also was very uncomfortable with the master wizard having sex with them. i could only picture him as dumbledore and that was very unpleasant.
i wont be continuing the series, but i may read a summary of the next 2 books.

I knew I would probably like this, I wasn't prepared to absolutely love it. Just fantastically written, absolutely marvelous spice, and I was riveted from the get-go.
