Excellent as ever one of my favourite crime authors

3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars. This is my first book from Michael Robotham, and I really enjoyed it. The story is told from 2 POVs- Cyrus Haven, a forensic psychologist, and Evie Cormac aka Angel Face, a young girl found at a crime scene 6 years ago and now stuck in the system. Cyrus is investigating the murder of a young ice skater and also tasked with trying to determine if Evie is fit to leave the system. Evie is said to be able to tell if people are telling the truth or not, and she is known to use this skill to manipulate people. Cyrus also had a tragic past, which brings them together. Cyrus and Evie form a bond that goes beyond shrink and patient, but not quite father and daughter. It’s an interesting relationship and hopefully this will be the start of a series to see what they do next.
Pretty good read. I like the characters and how it unfolded. Kept me entertained and enthralled
