4 stars. I was much more interested in Elena’s internal struggles over being Alpha then the missing kid plot line. That sounds terrible to say but that’s only because I don’t think that it was handled well. Elena and Clay are hands down my favorite characters in this series but damn they were absolute dicks to their daughter Kate and the way they talked about her instead of trying to figure out why she was behaving the way that she was. The twins also acted way older than eight. I thought they were teenagers so that was weird. Once Kate is found everything else about this was really good. I especially liked the way that it ended.

Oh, how I liked this one, though what the freaking hell man. You can’t just leave us like that!!! What are we to think? What’s going on man.

The twins! Oh, I have loved them in each book they have been in so far and it was nice to actually have them in and be involved in this book.

I can’t even imagine how terrified Elena and Clay were I don’t ever want to find out.

A lot happens in this book and I just don’t feel like it is done. I quite enjoyed the narration as well. The sound was off it kind of sounded like she was in a box, and there were times the script got repeated.

🎧 Audio Review 🎧

What kind of ending was that! Ok so this book was great, I loved getting a glimpse into where everyone is years later but the way it ends leaves you wanting and needing to know what Elena will do and this is the last book on Audio that isn't an anthology! Lets just said what happens next better be in one of those ;)

The narration was good but the recording wasn't edited very well. There are multiple parts that repeat.

I enjoyed this story. It had twists I wasn't expecting etc. and was generally everything I'd have hoped for.

However, the way the British pack was done was so ridiculous and troupey. The alpha was a Lord. I mean, really not that many people are lords at all. Less than a thousand in a country of 64 million. About 0.001% of the country are lords. And given the general context of werewolves, I would find it even less likely. Not to mention the fact he would almost certainly have better people skills than shown being a Lord. And then it goes on to describe another cousin who's also a Lord.... Absolutely no effort was made in this section.

Reread Thoughts:
I'm still not over this one. I loved seeing the new pack work together like this and wish there was more!

Quick Thoughts - First Read
1. It was really cool seeing Elena as alpha. That's something we never got to see in the books.
2. I've seen a lot of people complain about the stereotypes in this book but I think they made the story more realistic. Of course the tradition male werewolves are going to have an issue with a female alpha.
3. Loved getting to know the twins. I hope we get to see more of them!
4. The whole Malcom twist was really exciting. It also left more to be determined so another novella maybe?
5. I just need more. I can't give up Elena and Clay!

Such a delight to find this book when I thought there weren't going to be any new stories in this series. But it felt like a teaser, a taste of what I love about Elena and Clay.

I love how family centred this book is. Loads of feels to do with the pack with focus on Elena, Clay and the kids. The big bad threat is Malcolm, so no far fetched storylines in this one, but it's not boring in the slightest. There's plenty of action and most our favourite characters are featured. Great addition to the series.
