Controlling the weather and communicating with animals would be some amazing talents to have. In Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance by Ruth Emmie Lang one man has these talents, but they don't guarantee a happy life.

Weylyn Grey was born in June and accompanied by an unprecedented snow storm, which seems to have set the tone for his entire life. Orphaned at a young age, Weylyn leaves the human world and is raised by a pack of wolves in a Michigan forest. As Weylyn meets new people and moves from place to place, either in the company of other humans or animals, odd things seem to happen around him, from stopping tornadoes to plants suddenly and inexplicably growing. Impacting the lives of others, in mostly positive ways, Weylyn learns about the world in his own way, shaping who he becomes and how he finds happiness.
Told from the perspectives of people who have interacted with Weylyn, readers are presented with various accounts of disbelief and amazement as the numerous characters paint an image of who Weylyn is, at different times, based on their experiences with him. The magical realism within this story seems to primarily be a means of moving Weylyn on to new places with little exploration into its existence in the world of the narrative, but the way it's incorporated addresses aspects of it for both those who want to believe and those who are skeptical of Weylyn's influence over nature; although the way that Weylyn drops off the grid at a very young age is a questionable foundation from which suspension of disbelief may depend for some readers. Filled with an innocence and uncomplicated way of looking at things, Weylyn's forthrightness presents as mostly endearing instead of annoying while invoking a sense of sentimentality toward his life.

A boy with grey eyes that was raised by wolves, mostly. I really loved this book - even though it had different narrators for each chapter, the story flowed. Magical and beautiful. Don’t worry for what might happen, just get pulled along for the wonderful ride.
