This was such a comforting joy to read. The first half as others have mentioned is similar to the movie, and the second half takes us on Bastian's Hero's Journey. This is one of those books that I'll turn to and reread when I want something soothing but meaningful. So good!

It took me a while to get through but I enjoyed it. I feel like I needed to read this because I am german and this is in german we say Kulturerbe (heritage Site) A really enjoyable fantasy read and if you are german a must read
