I enjoyed this far more than I expected to. A quite original take on superheroes.

Excellent artwork, great stories, an introduction to some very cool new superheros; this book has everything I could want. My one wish for volume two is that it has more of a novel feel to it. This volume was a set of short stories, which was perfect for an introductory volume, and getting to know the new people; but I would have loved to get a little more meat in some of the stories. My favourite chapters were the ones involving Samaritan, especially the first chapter, which really gave an interesting perspective on what the daily life of a superhero might actually be like. I wasn't a huge fan of his name...Asa Martin? Samaritan...cute, but kinda falls into the "how could they not figure out the glasses disguise of Clark Kent" category.
