Didn’t quite feel this one. A very hunger games like story. Soooo many characters were introduced with very little info about them or anyway to tell who’s going to be relevant to the overall story. Because of that, I didn’t feel like enough information or background was given for me to truly connect to Darrow and some of his friends. The language PB uses was a bit much and just creating words by joining words I don’t think was necessary. The ending of this book felt like it was just setting up the rest of the series which I will be reading as I’ve seen that this book is the weakest of the series. Of all the reviews this series has received and it’s high rating I will be continuing it.

"The first thing you should know about me is I am my father’s son."

Loved the beginning and the whole story until they went into they went into the arena and started fighting then it got boring and the only reason I finished it was because it was an audiobook. I don't know what happened but it could not keep my interest at all even though THE BEGINNING!!!
