3.75 stars. The first part of the book was very compelling, but once it became a Hunger Games academy type story, I just wanted to get to the end to see how Darrow fares and what that means for the Ares crew. Unfortunately, I guess I'll have the read the next book to find out. And I will, because I do want to see if they succeed in taking down the Society. It just almost felt like I was reading two books in one.

It was good! A good "tough guy with chip on shoulder bashes on some bad dudes" story. It's very reminiscent of the hunger games. Feels like one step past YA, a good entry point to the Sci Fi genre if yer new to it and you like blood and dirt in your books.

Incredible. INCREDIBLE! I loved this book. It was a mix of all my favorite things: Greek and Roman mythology but make it space! Immediately going to book 2
