I'm not usually one for romances especially holiday related but I couldn't resist since this is set in Portland, OR where I live. It was sweet, silly, and sapphic, just a fun little holiday romp. The characters felt believable as they each have their own little struggles they're dealing with. It still requires a suspension of disbelief which usually keeps me at arm's length with romance books. I'd still recommend it for a light, Christmas read and it's a lot of fun for Portland locals as well. Now I want a cocktail at Bye and Bye…but never a Voodoo donut.

cosy and Christmassy and full of emotion. yes this is a romance but this is just as much about fear of failure and living up to expectations. it's about what that will drive you to do. i was rooting for Jack and Ellie the whole way and loved seeing them come together.

I enjoyed the absurdity of the premise and watching it all play out was satisfying! Felt very bi!
