A queer Winter holiday romcom set Portland Oregon. With realistic snow that is both cold and wet and also silently beautiful.
I love the way this book appreciates both curvy and butch women.
Brilliant, heartbreaking, and heartwarming narration by Natalie Naudus.
Four and a half stars.

I love love. I love imperfect, messy characters. Jack and Ellie are relatable, loveable, and in my opinion, perfect for each other! Also Dylan and Andrew!!! Love them both! This book was exactly what I needed and it was the perfect balance of Christmas and romance.

I really liked this one!!! One of the best sapphic romances I’ve read in a while. Loved the chemistry & demi-representation. 💋💖

Not sure if I liked this or The Charm Offensive more- but I’m adding Alison Cochrun to my list of authors that I will read anything they write. I love her characters and her stories! She’s bringing new life to a genre of tropes.

Honestly, I just love Alison. Her characters, her depiction of general mental health and everyday struggles, the way she takes real world issues and superimposes them into unreal situations.
Also, I’ll forever think of “the way others view me says more about them than it does about me” (quoted terribly).

An amazing holiday read that I would definitely read again! The only thing that could’ve made this a perfect read for me was seeing more of a developing friendship between Ellie and Andrew. Everything else was 😙🤌
Graphic: Emotional abuse, Panic attacks/disorders, and Gaslighting
Moderate: Outing
Minor: Death, Racism, and Toxic relationship

I struggle with romances and I generally give up after a few pages when I can't handle the cringe. This time I forced myself through by pretending it was like watching a cringy Christmas movie (which I am able to watch). Some parts were fun and there was a lot of queer rep.
Maybe I could have ignored the insta-love but it wasn't just 'I love you' straight away, it was 'I love you and believe in you and you can take this risk and you are capable of anything'. The main character's fear of failure was a little too over the top for me and the dialogue around it was just eh.
