Una obra fascinante, de lo que he leído de Oscar Wilde es definitivamente lo que más me ha gustado hasta ahora. Es rara, entre artificial y decadente, escrita con un lenguaje simple nada propio de Wilde, pero tiene una atmósfera que me atrapó por completo. A pesar de lo corta que es, siento que podría hablar de ella por horas; su sinnúmero de simbolismos hacen que las interpretaciones posibles sea infinitas y eso me encanta.

Lo que más me impactó fue la figura de Salomé, esta niña-mujer, entre femme fatale y víctima de las circunstancias, bruja, ícono feminista y heroína trágica. Me chocó la rabia que sentí en Salomé, la frustración ante sus circunstancias y las expectativas puestas en ella; no sé si es producto de mi visión del siglo XXI, pero me pareció una mujer incluso revolucionaria. Esto se vuelve aún más interesante cuando consideramos el impacto que tuvo la visión de Wilde en la figura de Salomé, que pasó de niña bíblica a mujer sensual en el imaginario colectivo solamente gracias a esta obra.... me explota el cerebro ante este nivel de genialidad.

Escribiría 15 ensayos sobre esta obra y creo que me quedaría corta. No sé qué mierda estaba pasando por la mente de Wilde cuando la escribió, pero agradezco la locura que lo hizo crear esta extrañísima obra.

loooove the imagery of this play .... just really love a good tragedy. super intriguing approach to the biblical elements as well, and i loved salomé as a character.
