Kelly shares with us some incredible and genuine moments from her life. This reads as a fun convo with a friend. I love that she was honest about the ups and downs in her life and what grief is really like. It was a good read, but didn't pull me in too deeply. This is a good listen (or read) to provide some uplifting companionship without having to think too hard.

I heard Kelly Corrgian speak at a book event with Kate Bowler and loved her candor and humor. This book is part memoir, part grief writing, part parenting/family reflection and I loved it. A quick read, filled with human stories of small moments. I almost lost a friend to cancer last year and somehow, she lived. This book got me knowing what could've been and made room for grief that's just under the surface.

I skimmed the last 25% of this book. It got really hard to engage with because I felt like I’ve heard all these lessons from other authors before. I didn’t learn anything new and did not particularly enjoy the author’s voice. I appreciate that she wanted to be authentic, but there was simply too much cursing for me (I don’t mind some, but there was a lot of it). If I felt I was really gaining something from this book I could have overlooked it. It is a short, quick read.
