YA book reads easily but plays on well-trod stereotypes of athletes and nerds. Basic storyline is too predictable and not believable enough. I think Gordon Korman cranked this book out in about a week. But, I'm just jealous. Truth is, I liked reading this and lots of young people will, too.
Will falling on your head change your personality?
The story, told from several viewpoints (the narrator change is clearly marked), follows Chase after he fell on his head and got amnesia. It has several funny events and bonding between youth and seniors which I enjoyed.
Personally I thought Chase had an extraordinary capacity to analyze his own actions, but I am told it is a favorite with target audience, so this may be something I am only reacting to as an adult. To some degree it is also quite preachy, but I enjoyed the way the story shows that people are checkered and not black or white (when it comes to personality/actions. I kept feeling like the kids were all Caucasian, but I am happy to have someone tell me otherwise.
Overall though, I had fun, and laughed out loud at more than one occasion.

Read this with Wren. Much smarter and more engaging than expected.

Good book. gets really good really fast and is in multiple perspectives. From different people. Really fun and has you liking the book from the start
