Slow start, felt rushed but the ending was nice. I got a little confused on some aspects towards the middle. It felt like they were throwing things at the reader and moving on to the next thing quickly. I wish the book was longer to better develop the world or the relationship between Cath and Jest and bit more and understand the universe they live in. Caths ending was amazing ngl, we love to see a badass women get revenge--i just wish there was more murder. Overall a solid book, but I wouldn't want to read it again nor would I recommend buying it, rent from a library or friend.

Similar to Cruella or Maleficent, it’s the unexpected backstory of a character. True to the book and Alice in Wonderland movie, there are many overlapping characters. Powerful love story. Twists, turns, whimsy, fun, tension, creepy. Well done, though I might prefer to rewrite some sections and outcomes myself.

This was a book that I enjoyed reading. I think Meyer's writing style is more fairytale inspired than fairytale retelling. I would say this book was a combination of prophecy, romance, Victorian-era gender roles, and the weirdness that can only be found in Wonderland.

I could write a whole essay based on this book. The descent into madness after grief, the morality, fate and destiny, there’s just so much to talk about. It was so beautifully written. It was truly sad, beautiful, tragic in the words of Taylor Swift. I’ll never recover from this book. I’ll never recover from Jest either.
