Now that's I've been hanging with the Hellions I feel like they have moved up on my ladder of favourites.

Emma Frost is such a proud mum. I love it.

The focus on a smaller cast of characters seems to suit Weir & DeFilippis's writing, as this is the best of the Academy X books that I've read so far. It's a tight, reined in story about wish fulfillment that skirts the cliches rather than tripping over them.

Clayton Henry's art is also a boon for this collection.

A lightweight but readable Hellions story. Pretty good actually, but in the end it was still a Hellions story. And it helps to care about at least some of the characters. I know there is life in at least a few of these characters elsewhere. But here I really didn't care about them much. And Frost is the behind-the-scenes hero. 3.5 of 5.
