Piglet is a deeply insecure woman who lets her life be dictated by the expectations of those around her... Until she gradually stops and it all comes crashing down. For much of her story, Piglet is honestly quite the unlikeable doormat. But as readers gain insight into the toxic relationships in her life, Piglet's personality makes sense. By the end of the novel, I found myself happily cheering for Piglet.

Overall, this is very much a "good for her" novel that fits firmly in the women's rage subgenre of contemporary fiction. If that's something you like, you'll definitely enjoy getting to know Piglet!

An absolutely incredible debut book. The foodie in me was hooked from the very beginning. Loved the pacing and the characters. Will definitely read whatever Lottie writes next.

What a wild ride! Now I’m hungry for pasta.

I absolutely *inhaled* the first half of this book. It became a bit slow towards the middle... but the end, THE END! I was so satisfied with it. This book truly embodies what it feels like to take up space. Painful, difficult, the whole works. Bonus points to the beautiful descriptions of food and cooking. Love.

Overall I enjoyed this book and read it quickly. I enjoyed the first third more than the rest. I thought it was going to be a 5 star read. I think I was disappointed that we never find out what Kit did. Although I understand the author’s decision not to include this I do enjoy that kind of drama !
