It's an interesting idea, and one that I'm sure will play into more books in the future. It wasn't near as captivating as a main title book, but I imagine everyone wanted a little more of Kelsier, so that's what Brandon Sanderson delivered.

So this was pretty interesting and not actually what I expected. I somehow thought this was a prequel about Kelsier and Mare… no idea where I got that impression. Anyway, this was a pretty interesting premise. I will say I liked the first half better. When Kelsier is much more involved in the second half with the plot of the trilogy it feels a bit disjointed. As I haven’t read any other Sanderson books, the extended info about the Cosmere was confusing. I am aware that there is intricate universe building and complex plots connecting all of Sanderson’s books, but I don’t know it. Anyway. This was a fun read. Kelsier is a great character so it was fun seeing him again.
