As with the previous book in this series, it isn't QUITE my sub-genre of choice, and I also deeply appreciate Victoria Schwab's ability to write nuance and complication into (YA) fantasy. This book is dark with a capital 'D', that is for sure, but it doesn't bother with annoyingly tying up loose ends into something pleasant. A very good read; I also LOVED that she made the effort to include a character using gender neutral pronouns.
im sorry WHAT
the fact that I’m still giving this book 5 stars is wild

This Book KILLED me... in the best possible way. I laughed, I cried, I didn't know what to think...all the good stuff.
The book picks up about 6 months after the first one ends, August is fulfilling his duty and Kate is hunting monsters in Prosperity. Of course, nothing can just ever be EASY, because that would be boring. So another monster, the chaos eater, emerges and Kate follows it back to Verity to defeat it and reconnect with August ;)
The book starts off a bit slow and I wasn't completely convinced of the storyline or storytelling, especially the multitude of POVs. At first they annoyed and bothered me but by the end I really enjoyed them and saw their purpose.
The struggles the Characters face within themselves but also with each other are really interesting and made me think about the different questions the book poses, esp. about Morality and our purposes in life.
I genuinely enjoyed this book. It was extremely well written and certain sad scenes were so meaningful and powerfull . Does that mean I liked every single choice made? No. Do I understand why they were made? Yes.
The ending of the book was so bittersweet and hopeful. You could just feel August's yearning for a better world and a better life for him but also for the whole city. The whole 'Elegy' was so amazing and put a beautiful end to the book and the duology.

Our Dark Duet was a good ending to the story started in This Savage Song. I won't talk spoilers, but believe me when I say it ended right, but man, did it pull your heartstrings.

Good book but not as good as the first.
Me gustó bastante, sobretodo el tema ético del bien y el mal y si realmente es blanco y negro o hay matices de grises. Y en general el plot general también estuvo muy bueno, lo único es que, para mi gusto, el desenlace demoró demasiado tiempo.
