This is one of those books that hits the ground running and doesn't stop. The writing isn't the best, but what happens in the story makes you want to continue to turn the page. This is a quick book that's entertaining to read. (Think Zombies vs. Groundhog Day on a cruise ship).

Brilliant!!
I read this in one sitting, and I almost never read this genre. This is an amazingly fast-paced sci-fi, horror, thriller that I literally could not put down! Seriously, I only took a break to order pizza for dinner; I wanted to find out what happened so much 😁 If you love Blake Crouch, you'll fall passionately in love Iain Rob Wright!

I've read a few books by Iain Rob Wright. I have to say, I've loved them but they are very gory :) If you like gore this is the book/author for you. The story lines are very good but I usually have to skip through a few sections because he goes into detail.... Very descriptive detail....

Zombies are not my thing at all but I've still enjoyed the book quite a bit. 3.5 stars, maybe even four. A well written zombie horror with a twist.

A troubled cop is sent on a sea cruise to help calm his anger issues, but the cruise is overwhelmed with a zombie outbreak while at sea and everyone is killed.
Including the cop.
Thus begins one of the more creative premises I've run across in zombie fiction. Our hero wakes up again in his cabin at the start of the same day, all over, and what follows is a sort of "groundhog Day" of zombie apocalypses. Unlike in Groundhog Day, however, it isn't a journey of self-discovery for the fellow - Instead, it's a complex mystery built on why the day keeps repeating, how can it be stopped, whether the zombie apocalypse itself can be stopped, and what to do about the few others onboard like himself... Living repeating lives also, and not all as eager as our cop to put the brakes on an endless cycle of consequence-free hedonism.
It's much less a zombie book than a bizarro time-repeating mystery, more for fans of books like Fritz Leiber's "You're All Alone" than for Walking Dead types. I thoroughly enjoyed it! The characterizations are fairly flat (Cop, anger issues, drinks, "doesn't play by the rules, got it...) but the story itself is a fascinating ride, and nicely original. Very recommended.

Read this book in 90 minutes. Loved it and could not put it down. It was a different take on the apocalypse which I very much enjoyed. This is my third book by this author and he is fast becoming one of my favorites.

This is a fun enough read, I polished it off in a day and it kept me interested throughout. Wright throws together a Source Code/Groundhog Day style mechanic with a Night of the Living Dead style virus and sets in on a Cruise Ship. There is definitely enough here to keep the reader gripped but it ends a bit weakly and the horror never shocks or terrifies.
Entertaining enough but derivative and ultimately unsatisfying.
