I liked it well enough. great storyline, I'm just more into mystery and suspense. perfect book if you're looking for a bit of sibling rivalry and teen angst

This book was just OK. I did enjoy it, but I felt like a lot of the drama and it was kind of unnecessary. But I came for the ancestry, DNA test stuff, and I did like how it ended and I liked the whole summer camp vibe. Much more cursing than I thought was necessary for a book that is supposed to be YA.

It started out slow and a bit cringey (still not over that she only refers to her camera as "kitty" 😅), but I'm so glad I pushed through, because I ended up absolutely adoring this book!

Are we really still doing regular HP mentions and pretending teenagers use Tumblr in a book published in 2021? Apparently we are. Also very cringe plot point that a friend who lies and causes one of the major plot elements.... does it because it's hinted she is Ace-spec. It's very vague, but she hints at lying because she isn't interested in romantic love. A perfect example to me of rep backfiring and feeling derogatory towards the group of people the author is trying to include.

Also this book really feels like it has an identity crisis, of being a book for adults or a book for teens. So much of it feels out of touch with actual 2021 era teenagers, while simultaneously feeling too immature to be adult fiction. It read like a classic 'this is the book I wished I had growing up'.

I was so pleasantly surprised by You Have a Match! This was my first book by Emma Lord, so I wasn't exactly sure what I'd be getting into. But I have to say that I'm already a full-fledged fan and already plan to pick up her other books!

Whenever I read a YA contemporary novel, I always ask myself whether or not my teenaged self would've fallen in love with it. And I'm happy to report that this was just the type of story I would've devoured, obsessed over, and reread a hundred times. It has everything I love about YA contemporary: humor, sweetness, and a whole lot of heart.

At the core of this book was a touching family story that had me hooked from the beginning. I was very intrigued by the mystery surrounding Abby and Savvy's families, and seeing them navigate their newfound relationship was really fun. There was pranking, sisterly-talks, scheming, and fun summer camp vibes that reminded me a lot of The Parent Trap.

Though the romance wasn't the main part of the book, it was still very cute and complimented Abby's overall journey well. Sweet Leo stole my heart from the moment we met him, and his relationship with Abby felt really special. They definitely gave me all the warm and fuzzy feelings.

You Have a Match is YA coming-of-age at its best, and I'd highly recommend it to everyone! Abby was such a fun perspective to read from, and I was rooting for her from page one in all aspects of her journey. A beautiful story about family, love, and figuring out your place in the world, you won't regret picking this one up!

This romantic ya family drama will be sure entertain and melt you heart. When Abby takes a DNA test, she finds that she has a full blooded sibling she never knew about. Watch Abby conquer meeting this new sibling while trying to figure out why her parents hid it from her! The best friends to lovers romance is so swoon worthy! And the drama and mystery behind this sibling will keep you invested until the very end. This is a great light hearted romance and family drama, and I highly recommend it, as I thoroughly enjoyed it.
