Total Parent Trap vibes here! Such a cute and heart warming story that had me laughing then crying then laughing again. The summer camp setting kept it fun and light hearted and reminded me of when I would go to camp.
Lord encapsulated so many different emotions that made me feel connected to all of the characters, even minor ones. All of the charcuterie had their flaws, but that also made them easy to relate to. Witty banter and back and forth conversations kept the plot moving. Didn’t feel like anything was unnecessary or took away from the plot either.

I know this was recommended by someone but can’t remember who now!

This was a fun easy read (especially after reading a few heavier books-it was a great pallet cleanser)!

Interesting story of a found sister and coming of age with a summer camp setting!

Little swearing, few sweet kisses, g/g relationship, death of family member, kid lying to parents- recommend 13 and up

This is definitely a cute coming of age story about Abby who, after taking a DNA test finds out she has a full blood sister she never knew about. There was a fair amount happening: family - new and old, friendships - new and old and teen love. I enjoyed Abby's story and seeing her grow up, I enjoyed Savvy letting her hair down and how they got to know and respect each other. The rest of the characters were written well too - and my heart warmed at all the friends Abby made during her time at the camp. The story was fairly predictable but it was a nice easy read.

3.5 stars.

I’m fascinated by real-life stories of people discovering hidden family connections through DNA testing companies like 23andme. (My test results were not particularly dramatic — no secret siblings or deep-dark family secrets!)

In You Have a Match, 16-year-old Abby discovers through DNA testing that she has a full sister that she never knew about. Determined to understand how this is possible, Abby and Savvy connect, and decide to attend summer camp together as a way to piece together the puzzle of their pasts… without telling their parents about their big discovery.

Family secrets come to light, tears are shed, and Abby learns a lot about herself, her parents, and the secret history she shares with Savvy. Plus, there’s friend and boyfriend drama, plus social media, worries about the future, and a best friend/boyfriend to sort out too.

I really liked the camp setting (memories…), and thought the main concept was really inventive. The secrets behind Abby and Savvy’s shared past are surprising and moving, although I’m not sure I buy some of the events as they’re described. I loved that the girls were able to get past their surface differences and come together as sisters, filling roles in each others’ lives that they never knew they needed.

I was less into the emphasis on Instagram followers and fame, but I suppose that’s a generational thing. The romance aspects also didn’t really speak to me, but again — not an actual young adult here!

I didn’t really know what to expect from You Have a Match, and I was pleasantly surprised! This is a fast, easy-to-get-lost-in read. Lots of fun, and also hits the emotions.

After Tweet Cute I was a little disappointed in the amount of romance but thought the plot was interesting.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for providing me with an eARC in exchange from my honest review. YOU HAVE A MATCH is scheduled for release January 12, 2021.

This book was SO cute. It was very well-written and was a really intricate story with a lot more depth than I was expecting. I devoured this book in a single day. It was so fun to read, I couldn't put it down.

Abby signed up for a DNA service, mainly so she can have something to talk about with her crush, Leo. What she didn't expect was to find out she had a secret full-blooded older sister named Savvy. Abby and Savvy decided the most logical thing to do would be to go to summer camp together and find out why their parents hid this massive secret.

I loved the camp setting for many reasons, but mainly because it gave me major Parent Trap vibes. Two sisters with different parents meeting at summer camp to figure out their parents' secrets? The only thing missing was Meredith Blake! If you're going into this book for a romance, you should know the romance is more of a background story, but it's still so adorable and plays into the bigger picture.

There were a lot of emotions wrapped into this book, and I teared up multiple times. My heart was so warm and fuzzy while reading this. I love this book and highly recommend everyone get their hands on it as soon as it comes out!

Emma Lord has done it again with another fabulous young adult book. Told from the perspective of Abby, a high school student that takes a DNA test to support a friend, only to find out she has a secret older sister. That's only the beginning of this wild ride of a book. There is so much growth shown in all the characters. It is a true coming of age story filled with passion for friends and family. I loved that Emma Lord included another cute name blend like she did in Tweet Cute with Pepper and Jack. The resolution of the book was perfection and I can't wait to see the next social media platform that Emma Lord decides to write about next!

I appreciated that Abby was a well-developed character and that although there was a friends-to-lovers storyline, it was not the focal point. Family secrets, self-discovery, crushes, friendship.

I liked this much better than Tweet Cute! A family drama more than a teen romance.

I requested this ARC of You Have a Match completely because I liked the cover, and was initially disappointed that this was a YA. That disappointment faded within a few pages, I was hooked pretty quickly. The story is fresh and polished, I stayed up late to read One More Chapter, and actually teared up at one point (don't worry, no dogs die). I would loooove to have a sequel to see what happens to our main characters, I feel so invested in their lives at this point.

This was my first book by Emma Lord but I will absolutely be seeking out more books by her.
