This was a roller coaster. To be honest, I'm not sure I like the main character Abby. Is it because I can't relate to her or because I relate too much?? Uncertain, but she was so whiny, fearful, and just short of self-destructive, thinking about everyone else's faults to avoid facing her own. She spends all her time running away from her problems mentally, physically, and emotionally because she's so "nonconfrontational," but makes every choice possible that can leads to trouble and the inevitable confrontation and fallout. It's not like I can't understand that, but the time of reckoning always comes and you can either choose when or be cornered into it, and it was always the latter for Abby.

Also not a fan of Leo. He was just...eh. Also liked to run from his issues while giving off super mixed signals.

I did like Savvy, Mickey, and Finn! They all had their problems they weren't dealing with lol but I didn't have to be in their heads while they brooded about them all the time.

The plot was unbelievable but it kept me going cuz I needed to figure out the backstory! The parents are almost messier than their children, incredibly.

I did have a good cry in the park when Abby and her parents finally had it all out. It was so unexpected, I usually feel it coming but this time the tears just started going without notice. So that was nice.

Overall, it was an interesting story and I had fun reading it, but I did spend a lot of the time frustrated at these emotionally stunted characters who don't know how to just talk to each other so.

I couldn’t finish. I loved Tweet Cute and was looking forward to this on, but the whole adoption going horribly wrong in such a way that I want to hug my children sobbing while I not sleep ever again was too much for me. I can’t unread this. I’m going to have this paralyzing terrifying situation burned behind my eyes for the rest of my life.

Update: so a friend did a quick look and apparently if a mom wants to pull out of an adoption before the baby is even born she totally can, so the entire premise of this book is garbage. I’m still shaken because having your baby ripped from your arms is traumatic to think about, but knowing now that it never could actually happen makes me feel infinitely better.
