I love a good ethereal being and just some guy romance.
I read this initially in jr high and I remember one of my favourite teachers picking it up because she thought it was about parasites (to be fair- yeah kinda) but then she saw it was also a love triangle situation and she was disappointed :(

Although the movies of twilight aren't that great, I feel as though they don't do the books justice, and I've always personally liked the writing of Meyer. This book was no exception.
Though it took me a long time to finish and it is a very long book, it was worth every page. The story line as well as the backstory to the story line were both thought out so well. I felt myself so engaged with the story and it was just one of those books that I was always compelled to react to out loud because the excitement or surprise or just pure entertainment was welling up inside of me.
THAT is how I know it was a good book. I rarely find those books that can make me feel that way and react that way. The way that the story line flowed so effortlessly, I found myself reading over half of the book in about 2 days. I couldn't put it down.
Meyer has a way with her imagery and action of putting your senses so on edge in this book that it feels so real and you're constantly wondering what is going to happen next. I would definitely recommend!

Honestly, besides the strange mormonisms like having the protagonist be 19 and her love interest be 24, or the OTHER age gap that’s even wORSE - both of which had no reason to exist and would have zero impact the story at all if they were removed ._. - this book is actually good. The concept is really interesting, and I liked a lot of the moral dilemmas surrounding it.
I actually like this book better than her Twilight series. Less angsty and more interesting.
It started off slow, but quickly became a book I couldn't put down.
