I was rather dissapointed that S.P.E.W. was left out of the films. Were the films worth it, or do they demean the books?

Who doesnt love Harry Potter. This is my top top favorite series. If I was stranded on an Island, I would want to get the series with me on the island. My favorite character? Snape, always Snape.
TRUTH be told, I don't actually know why I am writing this review. You've either read Harry Potter and loved it, or you can't really be bothered (I refuse to believe there are people who don't WANT to read it.. I call them liars). Honestly, this series changed my life. My mum started reading the first book to me when I was young and in bed sick one night. After that I couldn't stop. I read the books that were out and anticipated the new releases.
These books taught me what true friendship is and how valuable it can be. I actually met someone who remains one of my best friends because of a mutual love of Harry Potter. I saw a HP backpack at school and went over to look at it and heard a small voice say 'please don't touch it' and weeks later we were close as anything.
My love for Harry Potter borders on obsession, but it isn't for any one reason. These books are filled with the debate about good and evil and equality (and the fight for it). I learned that things aren't always black and white and people can change. I learned the importance of standing up for what you believe in and being rewarded for kindness or good deeds. The values I live by in my life are largely based on what I learned from Harry Potter.
HP is more than just a series of important lessons though. The writing stands out. Not only is it creative and thought-provoking as a story, but it is beautifully and eloquently written. JK Rowling is a literary wizard and the only role model I need. She created strong characters of both genders, opinionated witches and wizards of all ages. She created a villain who is not only terrifying but convincing. She created families and communities which act as a reminder of how people should act together.
I love these books way too much, but I wouldn't want it any other way.

An amazing book-series. Harry lives with his aunt, uncle and cousin Dudley. His parents were killed in a car accident. Or were they..? Harry soon discovers that he is a famous wizard - the only one to survive the killing curse, thrown by the most powerful, dark wizard. The story is about how he attend Hogwarts. A school for witchcraft and wizardry, where deadly danger is treatening.
I really love this book! I was caught from the first sentence!

Starting last fall, I read the whole series again. The first five books were childhood books for me: I've read them multiple times but always in translation. After multiple re-reads throughout the years, this was the first time I read the whole series from Stone to Hallows in the original version, and I loved it exactly as much as before.
I was sad to read the last book. I take characters, stories, etc to heart and I will miss Harry and the rest of the gang. The last book ended the series nicely and answered all of the questions I know that I had. All I can say is that this entire series was brilliant.
