Good but not our favorite. I like the way they made a Halloween book that isn't that much about Halloween.

Putting a pig in a dress is no easy feat. Keeping her focused on treats easy as making toast.

James found this on the shelf - both he and Zenobia really enjoyed the first Mercy Watson we'd read, and as I'd intended to get more there was no question about borrowing this. On top of that, it has 'princess' in the title. Zenobia just loves princesses. However, she tends to fixate on Disney-type princesses and their gorgeous hair and long flowing dresses and glitz. So I'm always particularly pleased to find books about princesses (or pigs dressed up as princesses) that don't fit that terribly narrow mould.

Mercy Watson: Princess in Disguise didn't disappoint any of us. Mercy is all pig - no fancy anthropomorphism (which is all well and good in its own time and place) and very funny in her fixations. The humans are wonderful caricatures. I'm going to enjoy reading these all again when the children are independent readers and reading to me!

Funny! Better than Mercy Watson to the Rescue. Best part, was a boy yelling after his sister, " STELLLAAAAAAA!' I can see where new readers would really get a kick out of Mercy Watson books.
