I love love Kate Morton. The Forgotten Garden is in my top 10 favorite books of all time, but this book was just blah. It was the same thing over and over again, the mystery wasn't that interesting and it took me forever to read. I can usually finish a book that I love in a day. Reread Forgotten Garden again.
Another seriously good, don't put it down until finished, novel from my favourite time period author.
Bit slow at the start, which is why I'm not making it a 5 star, but overall a really good, tragic and heartwarming read about family.
I liked the book but it felt like it really dragged on. There were a few surprises at the end but it felt like the book could have been much shorter.
this started off slow, but really had me in suspense trying to figure out who did it

Overall the book is okay. But it was so long, and I don’t see why it’s should be like this. The plot wouldn’t lose if cut at least 200 pages. Also, there is so much description, discussion about parents and children and complicated relationships between them. As for me it was a bit overdone.

Super disappointed that this book was a dud. I’m a big fan of Kate Morton’s books! I didn’t even hesitate to pick this up when I saw it was released. The book was wayyyyyy too long and exaggerated. Not much else to say about it. The plot and premise was decent, but all the details that went into it was extremely played up and rather unnecessary
