The major "twist" was obvious from the very beginning, and I spent the entire book wondering if I was actually wrong about it and would be surprised. I was not.
As per usual, Kate Morton has done it again—successfully transporting the reader between two different times to understand the mystery of a place. Jess tries to unravel her grandmother’s death bed pleas in order to solve a centuries old family secret. Always love stories set in Australia. Highly recommended.

I really, really wanted to love this book, especially since I ordered a signed copy. I think it's my least favorite Kate Morton book, maybe because it's hard to top her other amazing, surprising stories. I'm still a fan though and look forward to her next book.
