Overall a very good read. Feels like it slumps at times but it ends up being important so it works out for me. Fantasy never felt so human.

Wow. This book was absolutely wild. Its obviously a chunky read but so worth the time it takes to dive in completely. Even though there were characters I didn’t love at the beginning of the story, as the story progresses I found myself liking their story arcs. I specifically liked Ead and her story line, especially when she comes back to the Queen. Ugh my heart loved that reunion. Overall, a read I genuinely enjoyed.

Really enjoyed the story, the history of this world and everything about this book. Its a high fantasy with dragons, interesting characters, secrets, intrigue and so on. I found it hard to get through at times but it is worth a read and the hype. I also felt the ending was a bit rushed.

While it is a rich fantasy story, i think it would have benefited from being a series. Major events flew by and I wished we saw a lot more connection between the main storytellers at the end. In all though it is a really enjoyable read.

Truly a stunning work. Typically I don't read or like High Fantasy, but somehow this book grips you and challenges you without being too much. The characters feel so real while dealing with situations beyond our real life experiences. So touched by all the friendships and love in this book.

There were points when I became engrossed in this book, but towards the end that began to fade. So many names to remember, history to understand, my brain wasn't quite big enough for it! I also found Sarah J Maas to be far better at battle writing.
